Executive and board of directors


Our executive management team is accountable to the Canadian Blood Services board of directors and responsible for ensuring we operate within the policy and strategy framework approved by the board. 

Members of our board of directors are appointed by the provincial and territorial ministers of health. The board is responsible for the organization’s governance, overall affairs, strategic plan, budget and reporting on Canadian Blood Services’ performance to the corporate members.


Dr. Graham D. Sher

Chief Executive Officer

Graham has been with Canadian Blood Services since it began operations in September 1998. He first served as vice-president of medical, scientific and clinical management, and was appointed CEO in June 2001. 

Ms. Judie Leach Bennett

Vice-President, General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer

Judie leads a team of professionals who provide legal, governance, and risk guidance to Canadian Blood Services and its subsidiaries.

Ms. Jody Faught

Vice President, Supply Chain

Jody oversees production, distribution and logistics operations as well as integrated planning, process management, operational excellence, equipment and automation and key business enablement support for all products. Jody and her division drive customer order fulfillment and end-to-end supply chain enablement.

Dr. Christian Choquet

Vice-President, Quality and Regulatory Affairs

Christian joined Canadian Blood Services on Aug. 9, 2004. Christian is responsible for Canadian Blood Services’ quality management system and quality assurance program.

Ms. Jennifer Camelon

Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President, Corporate Services

Jennifer is responsible for providing the executive management team and board of directors with advice and counsel relative to financial and procurement strategies.

Dr. Isra Levy

Vice President, Medical Affairs and Innovation

Isra joined Canadian Blood Services in January 2018 and leads the Medical Affairs and Innovation division.

Mr. Andrew Pateman

Vice-President, People, Culture and Performance

Andrew is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and direction for Canadian Blood Services' People, Culture and Performance division.

Mr. Richard C. Smith

Vice President, Digital Solutions and Technology

Richard provides leadership and direction to the Information Technology (IT) division. IT is a critical enabler necessary for Canadian Blood Services to deliver its products and services safely and efficiently.

Dr. Eloise Tan

Vice President, Inclusion, Sustainability, and Engagement

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), sustainability and stakeholder engagement functions are consolidated into a new division under Eloise’s leadership. This division works to ensure Canadian Blood Services is a leader in inclusion, sustainability and engagement, best positioning us to be prepared for the ever changing present and future. It stewards natural intersections between our social impact and our purpose — identifying and removing barriers to inclusion and belonging within Canada’s Lifeline.

Ms. Elizabeth Stucker

Vice President, Collections

Elizabeth oversees collections and donor centre operations for whole blood and plasma. Her divisional mandate is to create and operate a single, integrated collections network designed to collect the best product from the optimal donor or registrant to deliver the best possible care to patients in need.

Mr. Ron Vezina

Vice-President, Donor Engagement and Corporate Reputation

Ron is dedicated to enhancing public awareness of the many ways people can support Canada’s Lifeline, guiding them toward the most impactful contribution. He is responsible for donor base growth and resilience to continue meeting the needs of patients. Ron is also responsible for organizational reputation and works to build and maintain trust and earn the right to serve people in Canada.
