Steven Carswell

To his role as vice president, quality and regulatory affairs at Canadian Blood Services, Steven brings over 15 years of health sector experience. A strategic leader with a strong background in quality improvement and patient safety, he is also committed to ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, operational excellence and regulatory compliance.  

Steven has previously held key leadership roles at Canadian Blood Services in risk management and operational resiliency. Prior to joining the organization in 2022, for years Steven worked in senior leadership positions in the Ontario healthcare system where he spear-headed key initiatives to enhance quality, mitigate risk and drive continuous improvement. Known for his collaborative approach, he works closely with cross-functional teams to navigate complex landscapes and implement industry best practices.  

Steven holds a bachelor of arts in economics from Carleton University and is an active plasma donor.
