Jeanne Dillon
Representing New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island
Jeanne is a long-standing supporter of the blood system whose involvement as both a blood donor and a volunteer goes back more than 35 years.
Her work in disaster zones has solidified her commitment for helping others, and has given her perspective on the important role blood donors play in the lives of patients in need. She has witnessed the need first-hand. An instructor and trainer for disaster services for the Canadian Red Cross since 2005, Jeanne has taken part in several secondments with the American Red Cross during large disasters which ravaged New Orleans, Pensacola, and Galveston. She also helped with disaster relief when flooding hit Saint John, New Brunswick, and has helped when disasters hit Newfoundland.
Jeanne is currently a volunteer leader for mobile clinics and in-community events in Gander, N.L. In addition to scheduling clinic events, she helps to increase the donor base in the community through advocacy.
