Erica Harris

Recipient Speaker

At the age of 35, Erica was very much like any young mother: nursing her youngest son and taking her oldest to preschool; enjoying family adventures, and attending mom and baby yoga classes one minute and professional conferences the next.

A busy, high-energy businesswoman, Erica had long been passionate about health and wellness. She carved out a successful career in the healthcare arena as a chiropractor and kinesiologist, and became renowned in the athletic community of Vancouver. She founded, operated and subsequently sold a successful practice. Erica loved to help and inspire others to reach their personal goals and did so by exemplifying a healthy lifestyle though active pursuits and nutrition.

It came as a surprise when she learned she had a very aggressive form of leukemia. Her journey has been an emotional rollercoaster full of heart-wrenching moments and beautiful blessings every step of the way. Thanks to the contributions and kindness bestowed by so many people, Erica now stands not only as the survivor of a terminal two-month prognosis, but also as the humbled and honoured recipient of both a bone marrow transplant and a double lung transplant. She is now a nation-wide inspirational speaker and health advocate for others travelling similar paths. Erica lives in North Vancouver with her husband Harley and two sons.
