Big team of employees at EV Logistics makes an even bigger impact in the community through blood donation
“Providing purpose for our team members and living our values around community and people are important to us as a business, however, more powerfully, it is engrained in our team culture at EV. Our large team is made up of some of the most generous and caring people I have been lucky enough to work with.” – Devon Hardie, Partners for Life champion and Area Human Resources Manager with EV Logistics.
After learning that one of EV’s own employees needed blood after serious complications with childbirth, Devon and the team at EV knew there was no better time than now to join Canada’s Lifeline.
“When you can put faces, stories and names that you know and care about to the cause, it makes it so much more impactful. In a large organization like ours, unfortunately, it has and can happen that our team members will be relying on the donations of others, so we see this as just another opportunity to support each other as well as our community,” shares Devon. “After seeing the amount of people sign up to join our donor team, we knew our first event would not be our last and quickly coordinated to hold a second team event in October.”
In addition to two successful events in 2022, the EV team also embarked on a special project to highlight the importance of volunteering with Canada Blood Services. They created a “day in the life” vlog where team members from EV stepped into the roles of donation center volunteers. EV Logistics sees partnering with Canadian Blood Services as a privilege, an opportunity to provide the time and space for donors to make a difference in their community, and one more way of walking the walk when it comes to their corporate values.
EV is looking forward to making community donation events a regular part of their events calendar for years to come and is excited to work through the logistics of holding an on-site donation event in 2023!
