Postpartum hemorrhage

I remember after delivering my 2nd child the doctor counting gauze as she tried to mop up the bleeding that was coming from my uterus. That's when I knew something was wrong. The rest was a whirlwind. The gynecologist was called STAT, I was whisked away to the OR. I was told later that they had to use 13 units of blood. The gynecologist said it was flowing out of me faster than they could get it in. It took 13 selfless donors to save my life. So I give back. To each one who gave that day and more, so another baby won't grow up without a mother, or a car accident victim won't succumb to their injuries, or so whomever may need my blood most, will get it.
