I never realized how important it is to donate until my 22 year old son was diagnosed with Leukemia. For 13 months, my son’s life dependent on receiving blood. There were some days that he waited in his hospital bed for blood and plasma as there was shortages. After my son past, I made a commitment to donate. Commercials should be clearer as to why people should donate. Most people don’t realize this until it touches them. Same goes for bone marrow donors.
