Lifetime Achievement Award

This prestigious award honours those who have made transformative contributions to enhancing the safety or quality of blood, blood products, stem cells, and/or cord blood or to advancing practices in transfusion or transplantation (including hematopoietic stem cell, cord blood, and organ and tissue) science and medicine.

Nominees should have a body of work that is distinguished by noteworthy publications, and which demonstrates leadership that aligns with the vision, mission, and values of Canadian Blood Services, reflecting a commitment to excellence and quality.

The call for nominations period is open annually between February and April, with a selection committee reviewing submissions based on the nominee’s impact, leadership, and alignment with the values of Canadian Blood Services.

The recipient is notified of their award in July and formally recognized through a public presentation of the award at a board of directors’ meeting, celebrating their lasting influence on the field.

The 2025 call for nominations is open, with nomination packages due by April 25, 2025.
