Luke Hall
Manitoba, North Eastern Ontario, and Nunavut
Inspired by a news story calling for more registrants across Canada, Luke originally joined OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network in early 2005. Seven years later, he was excited to find that he was a potential match for a patient in need.
A member of the Canadian Forces, Luke was on special assignment when he got the call. But that did not stop him from moving forward with the multi-step process to save a life. He made his donation of bone marrow in July 2012.
Only a few months later, that same patient required another life-saving procedure – and, consequently, Luke’s help. Luke did not hesitate to assist: in March 2013, he traveled from Base Borden in Simcoe County to Ottawa to make another donation.
From the very beginning and throughout the entire process, Luke demonstrated an energy, commitment and determination to saving the life of a complete stranger. Compassionate and responsible, his actions help set an example for other young men to join OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network, and reinforce the Department of National Defence’s commitment to saving lives.
