Blood components (whole blood, packed red cells, plasma, buffy coats, specimen tubes, etc.) are available from the Canadian Blood Services Centre for Innovation netCAD Blood4Research Facility. Any researcher can apply. However, Canadian Blood Services projects have priority over any outside organization and the time for application review and approval may depend on the number of Canadian Blood Services projects currently underway.
Where can I find an application form to obtain blood components for research?
The products available from the netCAD Blood4Research Facility can be found on page 6 of the product application form.
How do I order blood products?
Blood products can be ordered after you receive your own institutional REB approval, Canadian Blood Services REB approval, and a Material Transfer Agreement signed by your organization. Once these are complete, please download the Array and read the instructions carefully. Orders must be placed at least 8 weeks in advance.
