Transfusion Medicine Traineeship Award


The Canadian Blood Services Transfusion Medicine Traineeship Award provides funding for physician trainees accepted to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Area of Focused Competence (AFC)-diploma program in transfusion medicine. Information on the AFC-diploma program in transfusion medicine can be found on the Canadian Blood Services Professional Education website at professionaleducation.blood.ca. 

The objective of the Transfusion Medicine Traineeship Award is to build a community of experts that will ensure the relevance and safety of the blood system for now and the years to come. Through this traineeship award, Canadian Blood Services provides, on a competitive basis, salary and travel funding to a maximum of two trainees per year. 

Next Competition: Programs Directors must submit completed applications by September 30, 2020. Trainees interested in this award opportunity must contact Program Directors well ahead of this deadline. In general, Program Directors make decisions in August. Program Directors are identified at professionaleducation.blood.ca.
