Tomorrow changes today: Canadian Blood Services reports on 2016–2017 progress

(OTTAWA) – Canadian Blood Services shared its latest annual report, Tomorrow Changes Today, to Canadians this month, structuring its reporting to highlight the three main pillars of its value proposition: patient outcomes, system performance and cost-efficiency.*

From automating supply chain and enhancing infrastructure, to increasing reliance on digital communication, and improving patient outcomes through stem cell and organ donation and transplantation programs, the year 2016–2017 was one of movement and momentum for Canadian Blood Services.

Alongside details of key achievements, the report focuses on areas such as the evolution of the organization’s approach to managing quality, efforts to improve productivity and efficiency, and its plan to secure a sufficient supply of plasma for Ig for Canadian patients.

The report also features videos and personal accounts by:

  • Ottawa radio host “Stuntman” Stu Schwartz, a blood and stem cell recipient
  • Employee and blood recipient, Terrie Foster
  • Plasma donor Alex Medos
  • CEO, Dr. Graham Sher, who shares his thoughts on the delivery of a productive and efficient blood system.
