On June 19th, National Hockey League players and local businesses gathered in Ottawa to participate in the 2017 Gudbranson Celebrity Golf Classic—a fundraising event to help build Canadian Blood Services’ Cord Blood Bank.
This year marked a fourth for the tournament, organized by Erik Gudbranson and the Gudbranson family, and sponsored by Gavin Management Group. The Gudbranson’s youngest son Dennis was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia when he was just six years old. Thanks to Canadian Blood Services’ OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network, Dennis was matched with his lifesaving stem cell donor and has since made a full recovery.
